www.damienministries.org Damien Ministries is an organization for the community. Since its founding in February 1987 by Louis J. Tesconi, Damien has provided a number of services to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in the DC area, including case management, food supplies, clothing, spiritual counseling, and shelter. The organization has been highly successful in holding periodic spiritual retreats aimed at providing an open space for individuals to share experiences and discuss topics pertaining to their lives and condition. Through a waning economy, budget cuts and often feelings of indifference from the general public regarding HIV/AIDS, Damien Ministries has weathered the storm and continues to push forward in its objective to serve the community, which is why we consider it THE BEST. |
