The Best of Washington - The Alice Awards

The Alice Awards was an annual ceremony conducted by the Best of Washington to spotlight and honor the very best of the Black LGBT community. A long-standing tradition of the social club extending from 1979 to 1988, the Alice Awards was a true celebration of the many spectacular individuals who lent their talents, skills, and compassion in shaping the community.

Honors and Awards

In 2005, the Best of Washington received the Thurlow Tibbs Award. Presented by Us Helping Us, this award is given in recognition of outstanding organizational service in HIV prevention and support services for the African-American community.
